I'm back!

It has been FOREVER since I posted on this blog!  I wasn't even sure if I remembered my password.  Blogger looks really different! I am sharing today a sweet deal that I scored yesterday at an estate sale.  We have lived in our house for 5 years.  Most rooms have received some sort of "decorating", but our bedroom is sorely lacking.

I'm gonna do one of those before and after pictures like they do with makeup, etc.  Imagine in this first picture that our bedroom has no makeup on, is standing with its shoulders slumped and has a big ole sad face.

Before

And now after a little makeup and hands on hips!

Seriously, have you ever seen such adorable lamps??  I got these along with the lampshades for only $39!  They are a gorgeous shade of aqua.  The shades are taupe with a windowpane texture. They are just the touch of color that I've needed in our bedroom.

I hope that this is the umph that I've needed to restart this blog.  I've missed it!  Thanks for stopping by!

New York City from Above – Plog Photo Blog

Daddy's Jar

I got this beautiful old Ball jar at a church yard sale.  It was a fundraiser for their Annie Armstrong offering.   I took the top off and it fell and broke.  I hate that.  What I found so precious about this old jar was the slip of paper that was inside of it.  It reads:

"Was Daddy's Jar"
(Eleanor)

I wonder who Eleanor is?  Her Daddy must have been very special.  My Daddy was special too.

Copycat UPDATED

I remember back in the 70's when my bff got a push button phone.  We couldn't figure out what the # and the * buttons would ever be used for!  I saw this project and loved the telephone pad design.  I finally got it my hubby to hang it.

I'll take a moon pie and an RC please

My mother in law gave me this awesome old RC cola crate.  I cleaned off the cobwebs and decided it would make a nice centerpiece for my dining room table.  I got the cute little birds at Lowe's for only $3 each!

Thrifty finds

I got all this stuff at a church yard sale for $5!! The frame is Target brand and is in immaculate condition. The basket with the decorative balls are a beautiful color and are really heavy. I am not nor do I have any desire to be in the Junior League, but I thought this was a cute cookbook.

Meet the the Cloche family

Papa cloche-he's the size of a cake dome

Mama cloche-she's the size of a cheese dome

And baby cloche! It's little bitty! Seriously, isn't this the cutest thing? The green from the pear is showing up in the background so ignore that please. I got it at a new thrift shop in Goodlettsville, TN that benefits Teen Challenge. They have some really nice things.
